Fun Wedding Ideas - Valentine's Card Place Holders

Instead of spending a fortune on placement cards, if you have enough advanced notice pick up the children's valentine's cards after Valentine's Day, you know, when they are 75%-90% off. They make cute place holders and are truly unique.

Fun Wedding Ideas - Picture Frame Guest Book

This is something my husband and I did for our wedding. Instead of having a guest book that we would never look at again for years, we bought a nice picture frame with a large mat. We had the guests sign the matting. It now holds one of our favorite wedding photos in out kitchen and we look at it every day. It is one of the first things that visitors see when they enter out home. One variation I have heard of is putting your engagement photo in it when your guests sign it.

Fun Wedding Ideas - Flower Pen Favor

Everyone wants a favor that is useful and won't be thrown away once the guest gets home. A fun and inexpensive idea is to make a bunch of flower pens. Hot glue a silk flower to then end of the pen so that the stem goes down part of the length of the pen. Then, wrap the whole pen with ribbon. The pen is sure to be used again and again, until it runs out of ink. You can make them at your leisure, since they are non perishable and can be made months, even years in advanced.

Fun Wedding Ideas - Fish Centerpiece

You can get small, colorful fish for as little as $0.29 each. You can find goldfish and colorful betas for around $1 each. These make an adorable centerpiece in a bowl and a certain topic of conversation. Here are some things to consider, though. You want to assign the task of distributing the fish to someone who can do this the morning of the wedding. You don't want dead fish - not romantic. Also, make sure you have a plan for the fish at the end. Offer them to guests, or else the reception hall clean up crew may hold a mass slaughter of fish.

Fun Wedding Ideas - Disposable Cameras

Many have heard of the idea of putting disposable cameras on the tables for people to take candid shots of the guests. In order to avoid teenagers and children going wild with the camera, put a note on the cameras or have the wedding party hand them to trusted adults to supervise.

Fun Wedding Ideas - Dandelions

If you are having a wedding with yellow as an accent, consider dandelions. They really are very pretty and are obviously ubiquitous. This could cut your flower cost to the cost of flora wire. If you are not using yellow, but have a friend or family member with a garden, consider tapping into that resource with the same cost cutting effect.

Fun Wedding Ideas - Cake and Cake Topper

This is an idea from my wedding, which was a wedding that had a roughly $100 budget - no joke. I made my own cake. I made five two tiered round cakes. I then got a bunch of tomato paste cans. I glued three together for the first layer. For the second layer, I added three more, and so on until I got five towers of cans, each a different height. I wrapped the can towers with white ribbon and put a plate with the cake on top. On the highest cake, I also added out cake topper. Our cake topper was two little cupcakes, one chocolate, one vanilla, decorated like a tux and white gown. I cut out two pictures of my groom and my head and stuck them out of the top of the cupcakes, which were on their side to make them taller. It was super cute and so personal.
